THE STORY OF SYDNEY – LAND & SEA
The Story of Sydney takes you on an intimate journey through Sydney from 1788 to today. You will discover the history, lifestyle and culture of Australia’s most dynamic city and it’s many diverse neighbourhoods. The land tour begins in Australia’s oldest suburb, The Rocks with intriguing stories of early European settlers, like how Governor Lachlan Macquarie and his wife, Elizabeth, changed the face of Sydney with their tremendous vision. Travel past iconic landmarks, and through a collection of charming and vibrant neighbourhoods on route to Watsons Bay and Bondi Beach. Discover the lively street culture, entertainment and shopping opportunities of Paddington, Chinatown, Darling Harbour, and Australia’s largest urban development, Barangaroo, before returning to Circular Quay to meet your small-group tour boat, for the next part of your adventure – via water!
First stop is picturesque Watsons Bay (Australia’s oldest fishing village) for a delicious waterfront lunch and glass of wine, soft-drink or beer at The Beach Club at the famous Watsons Bay Hotel. After a short walk to the imposing cliffs of The Gap to witness magnificent views of the Pacific Ocean, North Head and the harbour you’re back in the boat and off to discover some of our harbour’s best kept secrets and take a stroll or dip on Sydney’s most idyllic, uninhabited beach … Store Beach at Sydney Harbour National Park is also home to a resident colony of penguins. You’ll see all the iconic harbour sights, learn more about our colourful history and culture, see waterfront mansions of the ‘rich and famous’, and visit Quarantine Station & museum for a tour and a delicious afternoon tea at the waterside Visitors Centre cafe. The boat will drop-off guests at Campbells Cove in Circular Quay.
Note that guests can be picked up from their city hotel or a nearby location, but must make their own way back from Circular Quay on completion of the tour.

This was the best Christmas present i could have given to my overseas visitor. We had a really fun and superbly interactive day out on the harbour with our friendly hosts Mark and Elodie. Being part of a small group meant we were given local knowledge and interesting facts while the skipper Adam took us into small secluded spots off the normal tourist routes.Read more
